Bounce and Browse

Bounce and Browse was a virtual event that asked participants to navigate a website with all of the stores and events that Downtown Bryan has to offer. The purpose of the event was to market downtown Bryan and educate the community on everything that is open to the public. As I was participating for this event I noticed that some of the website links were not working. This technical issue made the event a little frustrating and taught me that if I were to create an online event, I would need to make sure all of the links are working properly in order to have a successful event.
Grand Opening of The Lakehouse

The purpose for this event was to celebrate the start of summer as well as the new renovations the hotel had completed. This event took place outside in the pool area of the hotel. The hotel bar outside was extremely busy so managers set up more kiosks and check out registers around the pool area. I assisted with setting up decor and checking out guests. There was live music from local musicians and free give aways from local sponsors at the event. At this event I learned that you have to be fast and efficient in addressing guest accommodations. I also learned that whenever everything is planned well, you do not have to do much the day of the event.
Select Guest Amenities

The purpose for this event was to thank the most loyal guests at the hotel. Select guest amenities are something that The Omni Hotel does frequently at their hotels. I learned a lot making these amenities. I learned that it Is important to appreciate your guests because that not only creates customer loyalty but also increases customer return percentage. I love the Omni brand and how well they treat their staff as well as their guests. Everyone is treated with respect and kindness as soon as you walk through the doors of the hotel.

The purpose of this event was to raise money for The St. Thomas children. I assisted with creating signs that were used to guide guests around the venue, decorating the tables, and serving food to guests at the event. At this event, I learned that although you plan on specific events happening at certain times, you may not always be able to match your times during the event due to guests arriving at different times.
